ISR Architecture Award at the Interalpin
The trade magazine Internationale Seilbahn-Rundschau will present the ISR Architecture Award powered by INTERALPIN at Interalpin 2025 in Innsbruck (May 6 to 9, 2025). Outstanding architectural projects in the ropeway industry will be honored. Submission is already possible.
The ISR Architecture Award, reactivated by the Internationale Seilbahn-Rundschau (ISR) from the Holzhausen publishing house after being presented in 2009 and 2013 for INTERALPIN 2025 in Innsbruck, is an award for innovative architecture on the mountain. “Architecture is more than just the functional design of a building - it is also a reflection of a society and its values and touches us as a zeitgeist,” emphasizes one of the initiators of the ISR Architecture Award, jury member Dr. Helmut Lamprecht (among other things, former managing director of the cable car specialist group of the Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce and court-certified expert). Architecture plays an important role in the overall concept of ropeways and makes a valuable contribution to the identity of a destination.
The ISR Architecture Award powered by Interalpin honors outstanding and sustainable projects in the German-speaking Alpine region - Germany, Austria, Switzerland, South Tyrol - in the following categories:
- Overall project: New construction or conversion of a major part of the cable car-related architecture,
- Individual project: mountain station or valley station,
- exceptional sustainability: project that stands out in the areas of CO2 footprint, materials used, energy generation, etc.
A jury of renowned personalities - in addition to Dr. Lamprecht, Prof. architect Dipl.-Ing. Volker Giencke (Giencke & Company Architects, University of Innsbruck), Prof. Dipl. Arch. Daniel A. Walser (University of Applied Sciences Graubünden, architecture critic) and Prof. Kathrin Aste (Institute for Experimental Architecture, University of Innsbruck, architecture firm LAAC zt-gmbh) - will award one winning project per category as well as two further finalists. The winners of the ISR Architecture Award 2025 will receive extensive coverage in the Internationale Seilbahn-Rundschau (print and online). The award ceremony will take place on Friday, May 9, 2025 as part of the anniversary Interalpin 2025 - founded half a century ago and the 25th edition due to the biennial cycle - on a large stage in Forum 2 at Messe Innsbruck.
